Unfortunately, (being human) we can't always have perfect clear, smooth, glowing skin. At times some of us suffer from dehydrated, dry skin and others suffer from oily skin where cells are reacting from hormones, medications, seasonal changes or over use of skincare. For those who suffer from the latter, I have some helpful tips for you!
Use a toner:
Using an alcohol free toner can help keep oil at bay and your skin looking clear. It can help remove excess oils and dead skin cells that may lurk on the face after washing it. Toners can also help other sin applications penetrate more rapidly. Use it once you wake up and once before you go to bed.
Contrary to popular belief, oily skin needs moisture otherwise the sebaceous glands will only produce more oil to compensate. The best types of moisturiser are lighter weight moisturising emollients such as cold pressed plant oils (avocado, coconut, grapeseed, jojoba (actually wax ester), olive, tea tree). These work to perfection without leaving a greasy feel.
Use a face mask once a week to help combat excessive oil. A clay face mask is perfect for oily skin as it gently absorbs excess oil. I am filled with Fuller Earth which is great for this!
Stay clear! Xo
